This Weeks New Comics: Dark Shadows, Transformers, Game of Thrones, Infestation

Hold on to them hats & glasses cuz this here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!

Sorry was at Disneyland last night and Big Thunder was the last ride I went on…

A Game of Thrones issue #5. Dynamite Entertainment 2012.

Storm clouds gather over Westeros in the fifth installment of Daniel Abraham’s gripping adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy masterpiece A Game of Thrones. A childish game gone horribly wrong pits Arya Stark against Prince Joffrey, with Sansa Stark in the middle. But behind youthful rivalries, cold-blooded political intrigue is at work as Queen Cersei uses all her wiles to blunt the influence of Eddard Stark, the Hand of the King. Meanwhile, Lady Catelyn has journeyed to King’s Landing with the blade used in the attempted assassination of her son Bran-evidence that will upset a precarious balance of power. And in Winterfell, a dying Bran takes a mystical journey . . . and faces a fateful choice.

Dark Shadows issue #3. Dynamite Entertainment 2012

There’s trouble ahead for vampire Barnabas Collins as the vengeful spirit of his eternal nemesis Angelique continues to make her presence felt. What links the mysterious statue in the woods to the Collins family, and who among them can Barnabas trust?

TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE issue #1. IDW Publishing 2012

The war for Cybertron is over-now the hard part begins! This first of two new ongoing Transformers series offers an excellent jumping-on point and all-new direction as BUMBLEBEE and his fellow AUTOBOTS struggle to maintain control of a world without OPTIMUS PRIME!

INFESTATION 2 issue #1. IDW Publishing2012.

IDW’s ground-breaking, multi-universe event returns with INFESTATION 2. As with the blockbuster original, this epic invasion will spread throughout the IDW-verse and into many fan-favorite titles. With INFESTATION 2, tentacled Lovecraftian “Old Ones” reach across time and space and threaten to destroy everyone everywhere and everywhen.

I am really excited about the Infestation storyline. The first Infestation crossover was awesome! How can you go wrong with zombies munching their way through Transformers, Ghostbusters, and G.I. Joe.

This time around there is an infestation of the great old ones, the elder gods, the sleepers that dwell in nightmare. See what happens when the elder gods influence the Transformers, G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Eberron (Dungeons & Dragons) and Barrow, Alaska in 30 Days of Night.

Happy Reading!!

Comic Update

Can’t believe that an eleven day vacation would cause a twenty-one day catch up vacation. Anywho, been catching up on getting new comic titles up on the eBay store and man there was a TON of fun titles that came out the last week of December and the first couple weeks of the new year. Since there was so many I am just going to highlight a few of my favorites, but if you want to see the full inventory just click here!

I am a sucker for werecreature story, especially ones that make the were’s into human’s are our food not friends story, so I did a little happy dance when the first issue of Ferals came in!

David (CROSSED) Lapham returns to his Stray Bullets roots with a brutal supernatural crime drama that features the grueling horror of a new type of werewolf!. Officer Dale Chesnutt has a big bloody problem – slaughtered civilians are turning up in the sleepy town of Cypress and now it’s on him to figure it out. But while he is discovering more carnage, and his violent passions for a sexy mysterious woman, a vicious creature strikes again, this time at Dale’s own family. The horrific mystery begins to unfold with Gabriel (LADY DEATH) Andrade illustrating the on-going Ferals epic. Available with a Regular, Wraparound, Gore, and special Slashed Retailer Incentive cover by series artist Gabriel Andrade.

If you are a fan of the Vertigo series Fables then you should give Memorial a try. Great story (Chris Roberson) and art (Rich Ellis) with covers by fantasy artist Michael Kaluta.

New York Times best-selling author and Eisner-nominated creator of iZombie, Chris Roberson, delivers a magical ongoing new series. Memorial is the story of Em, a young woman who arrives at a hospital in Portland, Oregon, with no memory of her past. A year later, she has rebuilt her life, only to find her existence thrown into turmoil after she inherits a magical shop. The kind that appears in an alley one instance and disappears the next. Em is drawn into a supernatural conflict between beings that not only represent, but are, fundamental elements of the universe itself. All of existence is at stake, so there’s only a little pressure on Em, the magical shop, and a talking cat.

Up next is one of the all time best action adventure stories Lord of the Jungle (Tarzan). This is not a re-telling of the story but an uncensored telling of the Tarzan story.

The original Lord of the Jungle returns! If you thought you knew the story, think again! For the first time in its 100 year history the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs story, Tarzan of The Apes is told UNCENSORED! This series will capture the savagery and action of the original while expanding on it with new elements! The story begins in the late 1800s, John Clayton, Lord of Greystoke, and his wife, the Lady Alice, are left stranded on a remote African coast. They must fend for themselves in this savage world, and the fact that Lady Alice is pregnant doesn’t make things any easier!

Again those are just the highlights that stick out in my mind, but there is a ton more titles that have come out of ongoing series like….

Ghostbusters, Hellraiser, Hellraiser Masterpieces, The Game of Thrones, The Cape, Locke & Key, Warlord of Mars, Flash Gorden: Zeitgeist, Valen the Outcast, Star Trek, Dungeons & Dragons, Transformers, 30 Days of Night, The Dunwich Horror, Voltron…

See a TON! And that is just scratching the surface of what we have available. All the above and more can be found in our Bad Moon Comics eBay store. As always if you are looking for a particular comic or trade paperback and don’t see it listed please drop me a line (liz@badmoonbooks.com) and I will try and get it for you.
